Katanga Junior Celebrates Tanzanian Roots in New Afrobeat Single

Acclaimed Tanzanian-born, Australia-based artist Katanga Junior is set to release his highly anticipated new single, Tanzania, on January 9, 2025. The track is the first taste of his forthcoming EP, Bongo, which marks an exciting pivot back to his East African afrobeat heritage. 

Produced by rising Tanzanian afrobeat and amapiano talent Foxx, Tanzania is a vibrant, afrobeat ode to Katanga Junior's East African homeland. With its infectious rhythm and heartfelt lyrics, the song celebrates Tanzania’s people, natural beauty, and rich resources. 

Now residing in Alice Springs with his young family, Katanga Junior has returned to Tanzania for the first time in four years to reconnect with his family, the land he loves, and his cultural roots. Speaking from Arusha, Katanga Junior shared, “Tanzania is more than a song—it’s a love letter to my homeland. I’ve poured my heart into this track, and I’m thrilled to share my pride in where I come from with the world.” 

While visiting Tanzania, Katanga Junior is also working on an exciting recording project close to his heart, which he hopes will share his culture across the globe. More details about this project will be revealed mid-year.
